The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum was the first museum in the United States to be established, designed, and installed by a living artist to showcase their own work.

Isamu Noguchi once said, "Sculpture existed only to give meaning to space." In Noguchi's work, there is a secret relationship between space, objects, and both perceptible and imperceptible movements.

The rebrand centers around the overarching idea of spatial relationships and movement. The newly crafted wordmark behaves like a sculpture across multiple touchpoints by positioning the identity in a responsive manner, resulting in a flexible and poetic system.

Motion Behavior 1: Movement within the surface
The wordmark behaves like a sculpture, flexibly placed in the given environment or medium.

Motion Behavior 2: Movement within the logotype
The wordmark wraps responsively, integrating with imagery and content.

Campaign Identity:
Noguchi Craft Prize

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Noguchi Museum's establishment, the Museum is hosting a benefit soiree and a craft prize to honor Isamu Noguchi's contributions to the art world and to continue the spirit of the artist's pursuit of craftsmanship.

The campaign identity is rooted in the concept of "From Void to Concrete." The various treatments of each entry category are inspired by Noguchi's diverse body of work, including sculptures, architecture, ceramics, and more.
